Title: New mobility in the era of automation, connectivity, and sharing economy
This seminar will introduce the UCLA Mobility Lab and Center of Excellence on New Mobility and Automated Vehicles, where the work focuses on developing resilient and intelligent vehicle and transportation systems. Examples from the research portfolio, including smart intersection technologies that improve safety for all users, risk-informed frameworks for the deployment of automated mobility services, and AI-driven digital twin platforms that support mobility planning and operations. Building on this foundation, the vision for developing the University of Florida Transportation Institute (UFTI) will be outlined: to elevate its national leadership by advancing interdisciplinary research, fostering strong partnerships with government and industry, expanding workforce development, and transforming UFTI into a hub for applied R&D to address the future of transportation.
