Charles Brown
Research Communications Writer/Editor Florida Transportation Technology Transfer CenterBiography
I worked as a chemist for almost 20 years in research labs at UF, mostly in kidney stone research (I even had a couple!). I transitioned to research communications in the 1990s, starting in IFAS as an editor for the Extension Service. I worked for over ten years in Ag-Bio Engineering with ag safety and disaster preparedness programs. In Nov. 2010, I started at the T2 Center. In my spare time, I write, make art, and am an avid book collector.
Duties
My primary work is providing editorial and writing services to the Florida Department of Transportation Research Center. I review draft final research reports submitted to the Research Center and return an editorial review. I also prepare a one-page summary of each research project. The final research reports and research summaries are available on the Research Center website. The balance of my duties include providing editorial and writing services for the T2 Center, UFTI, and other projects.
