Academic Program Specialist IBiography
Originally from Jamaica, Paula moved to Florida when she was very young and lived in the South Florida area until moving to Gainesville for her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. After her master’s program, she decided to pursue a career in academic support services due to her passion for helping individuals. She has been in Gainesville for 10 years and in the last 3 years, she has been fortunate enough to be able to serve UF as a professional, assisting students in their goals!
Duties
Assist graduate coordinator with duties including but my limited to new student admissions, nondegree and certificate admissions, current student services (program plan changes, transfer of credits requests, advisement holds, etc.), coordinating recruitment events for prospective students (attend College of Engineering events), course scheduling for the Civil and Coastal Engineering department, etc. I am also crossed trained on all areas associated with the Graduate Coordinator as back-up.
