Biography
Taylor Rawlinson, Professor of Practice in the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering
Dr. Taylor Rawlinson joined UF in 2016 with industry experience in structural design and finite element analysis of dams and dam appurtenant structures. He is the Director of the Weil Hall Structures and Materials Laboratory, supporting funded research in civil engineering, with projects in materials, construction, structural, geotechnical, industrialized construction, and environmental engineering. As the laboratory manager and faculty advisor for multiple ESSIE student organizations, Dr. Rawlinson is a proponent of experiential learning activities and has led UF’s Student Steel Bridge team to earn the title of national champion for the last four years. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and his PhD from Auburn University.
