Born and raised in Puerto Rico. Attended the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) where he got a B. S. in Chemical Engineering and an M. S. in Nuclear Engineering. He got a Ph. D. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from RPI in Troy, NY. Taught courses in Chemical and Environmental Engineering at UPR for about forty years.…
My teaching and research focuses on characterizing the natural and anthropogenic chemical species involved in atmospheric processes, modeling their kinetics and multiphase partitioning, and improving the understanding of impacts of air pollutants on health and climate forcing.

Sungyoon Jung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences at the University of Florida. She earned her Ph.D. in Energy, Environmental, and Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 2020, and conducted postdoctoral research at the FDA’s NCTR. Joining UF in 2023, her research focuses on identifying and quantifying emerging air pollutants, such as micro- and nanoplastics, and their remediation using advanced nanomaterials.…
Dr. David Mazyck is the Director of Electronic Delivery of Gator Engineering (EDGE), the UF distance learning program for online engineering master’s degrees, certificates, and professional education courses.
