Dr. Taylor Rawlinson is an Associate Engineer in the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida. He joined the University of Florida in 2016 with industry experience in structural design and finite element analysis of dams and dam appurtenant structures. His current role coordinates and supports funded research in civil engineering, with projects in Materials, Construction, Structural, Geotechnical, and Environmental Engineering primarily in the Weil Hall Structures and Materials Laboratory at the University of Florida. The primary focus of his laboratory work is in support of research in concrete durability, supplementary cementitious materials, and small-to-large scale concrete experimental testing. Dr. Rawlinson has extensive involvement with laboratory safety with the development a comprehensive practical laboratory training course to ensure safe operations and proper research methods. He serves as the laboratory manager and faculty advisor for multiple ESSIE student organizations and is an advocate for experiential learning opportunities.
