The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering awarded Sara Behdad, Ph.D., the Doctoral Dissertation Advisor/Mentoring Award for the 2025–26 academic year.
An associate professor in the Engineering School for Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment, or ESSIE, Behdad was recognized for her excellence, innovation and effectiveness in doctoral dissertation advising.
In the Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences, she focuses her research on sustainable design, e-waste management, process modeling, decision analysis, and product lifecycle engineering. Behdad received her doctorate in industrial and enterprise systems engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013.
